past to help chickens. We have put the money to use so that chickens
everywhere can have rich and fulfilling lives. Unfortunately
the plight of the chicken is still not good. Billions of innocent
chickens are still ruthlessly slaughtered every year. It is enough
to break your heart that these beautiful birds are not free to
roam the forest and glens, singing their beautiful songs, because
vicious carnivores are murdering them for vile blood thirsty
oral gratification.
But a ray of hope is on the horizon! We at The
Society For Chicken Love have came up with the Sponsor
A Chicken(tm) program. For pennies a day you can sponsor
an adorable chicken. Many of these are baby chicks who sadly
have been left orphans. They need help for medicines, coops,
school supplies, etc. Your sponsorship can make a difference.
With your generous support sponsored chickens will receive tangible
help -- enabling their communities to provide nutritious food
and clean drinking water...education...basic health care...improved
sanitation -- or services to enable struggling roosters and hens
to take better care of their chicks.
When you sign up in the Sponsor A Chicken(tm)
program you'll receive an original photo and case history, with
name, age, family description and situation of your sponsored
chicken. Later on, you'll receive progress reports from The Society For Chicken Love staff
who work in your chicken's community. Over and over again we've
seen the fragile self-esteem of a poverty stricken chicken rise,
just from the knowledge that someone far away knows their name
and cares.
Also, you will be able to write your sponsored chicken letters.
We've seen how sponsors' letters act as an outstretched hand,
giving the chickens strength -- and hope for the future, often
in the face of very difficult circumstances. You'll receive a
letter-writing kit with special stationery to start you off,
along with a guide on how to write to your sponsored chicken.
Letters from your chicken (if you choose to correspond) are translated
from chicken language where necessary and allow you to share
important moments in your sponsored chicken's life. Many sponsors
write short letters 2-3 times a year. Disadvantaged chickens
treasure their sponsors' letters. The knowledge that someone
cares about them and their future give the chickens strength.
If you wish to give an extra special contribution, you can donate
a computer and modem to your sponsored chicken and keep in touch
with him or her through e-mail!
